Novice broadcasters on Single’s Day

It was another first for Skandinavisk last week as we broadcast our first-ever live-streamed shopping event to celebrate Singles Day, or Double 11, on November 11th.

Live shopping is common in China but novel to us in Europe, so it was good to learn how it all works. We had prepared 2 hours of live content covering everything from the uniqueness of Scandinavia to the origins of Skandinavisk, the fragrance chapters in our product collection and our path to leave a lighter footprint. All in both English and Mandarin. Plus some surprises along the way – including an unexpected guest star in Stanley, our neighbour’s over-excited German Shepherd, just as we went live.

It’s a far cry from Instagram and Pinterest, but a lot more fun. Whether the audience agreed is another matter.

The scheduled event was to support our new flagship store on Tmall Global, China’s primary domestic eCommerce platform for international brands committed to animal welfare.
