This November, Skandinavisk and Scandinavian Airlines launch a special edition version of Skandinavisk’s new ARKTIS candle fragrance to celebrate the 70th anniversary of SAS’s pioneering polar route and take the first step in a new brand partnership.
Special edition SAS ARKTIS candle to be launched at Copenhagen Kastrup and Los Angeles LAX airports on 15th November as part of the celebration events, and then available exclusively for SAS Eurobonus members.
'While SAS carries people to and from Scandinavia in style, SKANDINAVISK transports the ones who aren’t travelling.'
- Shaun Russell, SKANDINAVISK founder
"This is a truly exciting new chapter in both our journeys. The opportunity to work together is something that makes perfect sense for both parties” says Shaun.
“We had been working on a concept for the far north, the polar circle, when we also started talking to SAS. When we mentioned our new fragrance theme, SAS revealed they were in the process of planning a milestone anniversary, and serendipity took its course”.
Paul Verhagan, Chief Commercial Officer of Scandinavian Airlines, adds; “SAS has been an aviation pioneer since our founding in 1946, and this year marks the 70th anniversary of one of our proudest achievements—becoming the first airline to fly over the North Pole, connecting Copenhagen to Los Angeles in 1954. This groundbreaking route was a feat of Scandinavian courage and innovation, cutting both travel times and fuel use, paving the way for cross-Atlantic flights. After all, who better to navigate the far north than the world’s most northerly international airline? Partnering with Skandinavisk, as they capture ‘the scent of the North Pole’ in their new fragrance, beautifully honours our shared commitment to the Nordic spirit.“
Imagine being in the northernmost parts of the world. A place where the sun does not set in summer and doesn't rise in winter. Just ice and sky as far as the eye can see, and few sounds other than the whistle of the wind.
A corner of the world where nature dominates, a place so inhospitable only the hardiest adventurers dare to go.
ARKTIS [’arktis]
Norwegian for 'Arctic'.
The vast frigid landscape shared by northern Norway, Sweden and Finland is as fresh and magnificent as it is remote and inhospitable.
Frozen fire
Scent notes
Windswept woods and arctic sage, spearmint and snowflakes.
