Our new range of scented candle refills are designed for use in our 200g candle glasses, to help your candle glass last for multiple uses. Most candle glasses end up in landfill after use, where they take a shockingly long time to biodegrade (for more information, take a look at our Glass v. We’re delighted to be able to help you reuse yours for many years into the future.
Here’s how to get the best out of your new Skandinavisk scented candle refill.
1. Clean
Clean the candle glass by removing any remaining wax with a paper towel, remove the wick stem and discard. Check that your candle glass is intact and does not have any cracks.
It can help to warm the glass first to soften the wax by using a hair dryer, or by dampening the paper towel with hot water. Do not rinse with soapy water and then pour down a sink as the wax will cause clogging, and wax and fragrance should not enter our waterways.
2. Place
Remove the candle refill from the box and place it inside your cleaned glass. The paper box is 100% recyclable so discard in a recycling bin in accordance to local regulations.
3. Light
Light the wick and remember that the first burn should be long enough to ensure an even melt pool (2+ hours). Extinguish the flame by covering with the wooden lid. Remember to trim the wick before relighting.
4. Safety note
The candle refill must be placed in a glass container prior to lighting. Failure to do so could cause damage, injury or fire.
