A celebration of Nordic happiness
The UN World Happiness Report was released this morning and once again the Nordic countries dominate the top 10:

The report – perhaps the most important of all societal measures and now in its 7th year – analyses quality of life by country and takes into account multiple variables such as GDP, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity, and perceptions of corruption. This latest update demonstrates once again that, while there are many other progressive countries that the world needs to take more notice of, nowhere else is there a region of neighbouring countries where thought overlaps to such an extent and who share such similar progress.
Indeed, the Scandinavian mindset on life is a lesson for many louder, more tribal, voices elsewhere; respecting nature and adapting to it, prioritising the community over the individual, treating others as equals and trusting strangers, responsibly trying to make life better, and finding happiness in the everyday. That is why we started Skandinavisk – to share with the world our belief that a more Scandinavian approach to life is better for all. We do this by telling stories from Scandinavia in fragrance and design (you’ve got to start somewhere). But living ‘more Scandinavian’ is not just which part of the world you come from, it’s also how you think, how you treat others and the world that surrounds you, and what you treasure.
Like Scandinavia, we won’t stop spreading the word.
